J.B. Satterfield, 85, Succumbs at Belton
BELTON, Dec 5--(Special)
The death of J.B. Satterfield, 85, at his home on Pelzer Street, Thursday night removed from Belton. A highly respected citizen. As a member of Company E, Hampton Legion, Mr. Satterfield did valiant service for the Southern cause throughout the war and was severely wounded in the battle of second Manassas. He is survived by a second wife, who was Miss Pallie Greer, five sons, Dr. J.B. Satterfield, Wharton, Texas, W.A. Satterfield, Greenville, N.C. Satterfield, Ware Shoals, G.C. Satterfield, Belton, and three daughters, J.A. Davis, Newberry, D.L. Wood, Rock Hill, and W.E. Nelson, Greenwood.
Funeral service will be held and internment made at Barkers Creek at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon.
