11th day of December A.D. 1855, ages stated by Nancy Brown on petition t othe court fo her son Pinckney Brown, as of legal age (21) and waiting to settle for his share of his father's estate, which he later states "that all his mother ever gave him in his lifetime, one mule worth $40,00."

To Leonard Brown, Edmund Brown, Willis Brown and Sarah Brown, legal heirs and representatives of Nancy Brown, who died instate, Greeting: You are hereby required to appear at the Court of Ordinary, to be holden at Greenville Court House, for Greenville District, on the 24th day of November, A.D. 1865, to show cause, if any you can, why the Real Estate of Nancy Brown, deceased, situated in the said district, on Waters of Manin (Mansen) Bone Creek, Waters of Enoree River, bounded by lands of Joseph Edwards (her brother), Mrs. Batson, McBee, Green and others, and containing one hundred and one acres more or less, originally granted to Elishia Simmons, should not be sold and proceeds of the sale of the Real Estate of Nancy Brown, deceased, when sold by me for -------- and division, should not be paid-------to Joseph Edwards, Administrator, of said Nancy Brown.
Given under my hand and seal this 17th day of November A.D. 1865.

Nancy married Edmund BROWN, son of John H. BROWN and Susannah MILLER. (Edmund BROWN was born in 1815 in Greenville Co, SC and died on 4 Jan 1852 in Edgefield, SC.)
