REAL ESTATE OF: WILLIAM B. DAVIS, deceased.
To: HERBERT HAMMOND, Ordinary of Anderson District. The petition of the undersigned widow of the late WILLIAM B. DAVIS late of Anderson District, deceased who died Intestate. Showth that the deceased died Seized and possessed of a house and lot situated in Anderson District near HONEA PATH bounded by POLLY GREER, J. M. GREER, and M. KING and containing one and one fourth acre, decide that said Real Estate may be brought to sale at early as possible and that you take such steps as will bring it about, as in the opinion of your petitioner the same will be under your jurisdiction being not worth more than one thousand dollars. The heirs at law of the said deceased intestate are first. Your Petitioner who not having child or children is entitled to one half and the brothers and sisters and father the other half. To Wit: MOSES DAVIS the father of the deceased, JOHN M. GREER and wife EMILY, ELIZABETH DAVIS, MATTHEW A. DAVIS, and AARON M. DAVIS the brothers and sisters of the deceased. DAVIS, deceased. Greetings: You are hereby required to appear in the Court of Ordinary to be held at Anderson Court House for Anderson District on Monday the 3rd day of November next. To show cause if any you can why the Real
Estate of WILLIAM B. DAVIS deceased. Situated in ANDERSON DISTRICT on the waters of SALUDE RIVER near HONEA PATH bound by POLLY GREER, J. M. GREER and M. KING and containing one and one-fourth acres more or less should not be divided or sold allotting to SALLY DAVIS one half and the other half to be distributed to the remaining heirs at law. ORDER OF SALE On due Examination it is Ordered and Decreed that the land described in the Summons in Partition in this case be sold by the Sheriff of Anderson District on the first Monday in December next or on such other sale day as will be more advantages for the parties in interest or a credit of twelve months with interest from the day of sale the purchaser giving bond with good Security and a Mortgage of the premises if deemed necessary to the Ordinary for the payment of the purchase money. Except the cost which will be required in cash. Given under my hand and Seal this 7th day of November AD 1862. HERBERT HAMMOND, Ordinary Anderson District

I sold the above domicile on sale day in December 1862. Bid of by JOHN M. GREER to [$165.00] one hundred and sixty-five dollars that being the highest and last bid for the land to whom the said was timed off. J. B. MAGEE, Sheriff Anderson District.
