Foreword
My first entry on this page is Wanda Shirley. Wanda is a very special person to me. She read one of my postings to one of the many South Carolina Genealogy lists I subscribe to. When she read my posting about the location of Barkers Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, she sent me a message that she lived nearby and generously offered to drive there, search for my ancestors' graves, clean their headstones, and take pictures which she mailed to me. It is this helpful spirit in the name of genealogy that has made this a most rewarding experience. I cannot offer enough thanks to all of the individuals listed below for their generous contributions.
I have only been doing genealogic research for a relatively short time. I believe the most important lessons I have learned from this is "share and share alike" and, most importantly, respect the hard work of others and ALWAYS ask permission before posting information that will be available to the public. I admit I was naive when I first began digging into my family tree, and made some mistakes along the way, but I'm learning something new every day. Good luck to everyone in discovering their roots!
